RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Dodge Durango- Video
Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline right here at etrailer, and today, we're gonna be taking a look at how the RockyMounts AfterParty Swing Out Bike Rack fits on the 2021 Dodge Durango. So the AfterParty is gonna be a dual-wheel mount rack with a high weight capacity for heavy electric bikes. It's pretty much the same as the RockyMounts Guide Rail, but it has an extra feature which is that this can swing out towards the passenger side. Now some things on the Durango, especially with this hitch receiver, is that this is gonna have a lot of height compared to other bike racks. So if you do have a 60-pound bike, that's something you have to consider is that you have to lift that up and onto this rack. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Dodge Durango- Video
Hey there, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Inno Tire Hold HD two bike platform rack for your heavy electric bikes and we'll see how it fits here on our 2021 Dodge Durango. So the HD is gonna be really good for those heavy bikes with a weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike. Awesome, very impressive. Now for a Durango though, there are some things you're gonna have to consider with this vehicle. The first one is that it's gonna be really high up off the ground, so I highly recommend grabbing the Inno Tire Hold ramp that's sold separately, add-on accessory that instead of having to lift the bikes up and onto the rack, you can then just ramp them down. The second thing is that your tilt away functions you do lose out on with this car. more

Yakima FullTilt 5 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Dodge Durango- Video
Hi, Matt here with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Yakima FullTilt Bike Rack on the back of the 2022 Dodge Durango. One of the main features that sets this hanging style bike rack from the other ones is it has the potential to carry five bikes at one time, each at 40 pounds and a maximum of 150 pounds. And since it makes contact with the bike rack, it's not gonna be compatible with carbon frame bike racks or alternative frame bike racks. And since its weight capacity is only 40 pounds, it will not be compatible with e-bikes either. Now if you do have an alternative style bike or a child's bike, we do have these adapter bars that make them compatible with the hanging frames. You do have these adjustable clips that keep your bikes in place. more

Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Dodge Durango- Video
Hi Matt here with the etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 on the back of the 2022 Dodge Durango. This rack is capable of holding four bikes, 35 pounds each, has three straps, one on each tire and one on the frame. This is gonna prevent it from being carbon frame friendly, and it's not gonna be E-bike friendly either. Something we did notice about this bike rack is when we had our bike in this first spot here, the handle bars actually made contact with the back of the windshield, just barely, so we decided to move it on to this second rack here. And this is about a 29 inch handlebar length, so if you do have any bikes that are 29 and longer, I'd keep 'em on the third, the second rack and up. Now if you have any ones that have shorter lengths, I'd say they would fit here. more

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Dodge Durango- Video
Hi Matt here with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Kuat NV Base on the back of the 2022 Dodge Durango. Since our Kuat NV Base is a premium bike rack, it has the ability to tilt back. So all we'll have to do is press down on this lever and let it tilt back, kind of cradling the back end. Now we'll have access to our back hatch. Now keep in mind that we do have 29" handlebars, and that barely makes clearance. So if you have anything wider, I'd definitely put that on the other rack back here. more

Hollywood Racks Destination 2 Bike Rack Review - 2022 Dodge Durango- Video
Hi, Matt here with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Hollywood Racks Destination 2 on the 2022 Dodge Durango. This is a platform-style bike rack capable of holding two bikes, 35 pounds each, has three points of contact, one on each tire, and one in the center on the frame. What this means, is it's not gonna be e-bike friendly, because it won't be able to hold that much weight, or it won't be carbon frame friendly, because it's attached directly to the frame. A neat function with this bike rack as well, is gonna be this padded strap. So what's nice about this, is it rotates and adjusts up and down. So overall, that's gonna be really nice for if you have an alternative frame bike, it's gonna fit even kid bikes as well. more

The GuideRail does also have a tilt away feature where we're just going to pull the lever located at the bottom of the rack and then slowly tilt it down allowing us that full hatch access. more

The downside, though, for our Durango is because you have a larger hatch and the transfer doesn't really tilt that far down, you won't be able to fully open it up. Now the Curt Premium, like I said, is a hanging style bike rack that is going to be weight rated for 180 pounds. So you can divide that up however you would like amongst different bikes. Because we are holding onto them by their frame, that means our carbon frame bikes unfortunately are not gonna be a great fit for this. How's it going everyone Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Hitch Bike Rack and we're gonna see how it fits on our 2021 Dodge Durango. It's gonna be a great entry level way to get up to four bikes where you need 'em to go. The Destination 4 will be a platform style bike rack which means it's gonna hold our bike up by the tires here down at the bottom and it's capable of supporting four bikes up to 35 pounds a piece. Primarily gonna hold onto them with this rotating padded clamp here on our center mast. So it does make frame contact and we recommend not using this with carbon frame bikes. It could potentially damage them while we're driving but because we can slide up and down that center mast a little bit and the pads do rotate 180 degrees, then we should be able to accommodate a bunch of different alternative frame style bikes We also have our secondary points of contact being the straps down, one at the front and one at the back wheel. more

It's going to hang the bike by the frame and hold it in place with these cradles using the zip strips up top, holding it down in the cradles. We've got two up top, and then one around the seatpost to limit that side to side movement. There's still some, but this greatly reduces it, especially compared to some of the strap style of straps that just kinda stretch over the frame. more

That being said, if you have a carbon frame style bike, this might not be the rack for you. It's gonna be made out of a steel construction, so it's gonna be very durable and last you a long time, it's also finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant. One of the cool features about this rack is the tilt-away feature, there is a lever back here that you pull and gently lower down, and that way, we can access our hatch, grab our helmets and our waters, whatever we need for our bike ride. more

This is a great option if you are looking for a bike rack that is solid, sturdy, and looks great. We have here the Sherpa in color gray, and it also comes in the colors black and the colors pearl. It's the exact same design, just a different finish.One of its features is that it can tilt away, and to do so, you just pull this lever here and it glides down and stops right there. So you would use this feature if you wanted to access your hatch, just like what we're doing here on our Durango. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2018 Dodge Durango, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium Platform Style Bike Rack. So today the rack that we have can hold up to a total of two bikes. However, if you don't need to carry that many, there's a one bike version available as well. Now the main thing that really kind of separates this rack from some of the others is how it's going to secure your bike down. So we're going to have two wheel hooks, so one for each tire, and that's something you don't see really all that often. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium platform-style bike rack.So today on our Journey, we have the rack that can hold up to a total of two bikes, but if you don't need to carry two, there's a one bike version available as well.Now what really separates this platform-style rack from many of the others is how it's going to secure your bike. It's going to use two-wheel hooks. So one on the back tire and one on the front tire.And it's pretty unique. A lot of the other platform racks only use one wheel hook and usually a small strap or something like that here in the back. So, with two hooks, it's going to do a great job of keeping your bike secure.And because of that design, we're able to do something pretty cool. more

Hey everybody. Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2014 Dodge Journey, we're going to be taking a look at the Rhino-Rack to bike rack. Now using bike rack with your Journey is really going to work out well. With these Journeys, typically, being family cars, you're going to be able to free up that space on the inside, allowing you to carry around more friends or family. But with that being said, kind of my first impression of the rack is that it's going to hold their bike up pretty high. more

We're going to have two wheel hooks, so, perfect for carbon fiber bikes. It's going to hold them down by the wheels and very secure. It sure beats just having one wheel hook and a lot of times you'll have a small strap or something here at the back. more

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at e-trailer today on our 2019 Dodge Durango, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro hitch Mount bike rack. So the rack is going to be able to hold up to a total of four bikes then we can really load up the car with all your buddies or family. Keep the bikes out here and hit the trails all together in one car. Now, the way that the rack works is really simple, and that's one of the best things about it. It's going to hold our bike down in three different spots, two straps up here, and one down here. And this is going to act as an anti-sway strap and really prevent that side to side movement as you're going down the road. more

Adam: Hi everyone. Adam, etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule apex XT2 hanging style bike rack on our 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. So this is going to be a pretty nice way to get two bikes to and from your destination. One of the main things about this one is just the spread between the bikes. We're going to have about seven inches, which is a decent amount compared to some of those three and four bike rack versions. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Adam: Hi, everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Swagman Dispatch platform-style bike rack on our 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. This is going to be a platform-style rack that is going to have two wheel cradles and a frame hook to get it securely in place. It is going to be able to hold two bikes and get them to and from your destination. A nice thing about these wheel cradles here is we can actually loosen them up and slide them across as being here to fit all sorts of different types of bikes, whether it's just you and your kiddo going to the trails and riding around. more
